CRAOA FALL 2008 BUSINESS MEETING

November 5, 2008

The CRAOA fall business meeting was called to order by President Mike Mitchell at 7:00. An attendance sheet was passed around for members to sign in for roll call..

The Spring 2008 business meeting minutes are on the CRAOA web site as presented by executive Secretary Pinky Primrose. Motion by Paul Schuetz and seconded by Dan Hilby to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried.

Pinky presented the Financial Report. As of November 5, 2008 the balance on-hand was $4,706.18. The association is in good financial condition. Questions about day-to-day financial details can be discussed with any officer. Motion by Jack Jaspers and seconded by Pat Casey to accept the Financial Report as presented. Motion carried.

The Executive Committee met on October 27, 2008. Chris Heidelbauer reviewed the agenda of this meeting, which is included the financial review and the remaining agenda items for this meeting.

Pinky reviewed major items from the newsletter:

· Top test scores from the football part II test were:

· Jeff Drahozal (99)

· Bob Varian (98)

· Steve Hamilton (97)

· Bill Cooper (99) highest for new officials

· Thirty-five officials scored 90 or above and thirty-one scored 80 or better. The improvement in the number of scores were thought to be attributed to the restructuring of the rules presentations to include more group discussions.

· There were a record number of football officials that were selected for post season assignments. Congratulations to everyone.

· CRAOA banquet to be held April 16, 2009 at Touch of Class, speaker TBA. Everyone is encouraged to bring spouses or significant others.

· Reminder to keep the Arbiter updated

· Number of officials to be recognized at the banquet for longevity in CRAOA

No communications were presented. The Executive Committee had reviewed a handful of letters requesting membership requirement waivers for missed meetings.

No Old Business was discussed.

Motion made by Pat Casey to promote the above members, second by Paul Schuetz. Motion carried.

Pat Casey expressed concern about members attending one of the two business meetings that the association holds. Stating that basically the same people attend each time. Pinky stated that notices are posted via aribiter and e-mail. It was also noted that there are no repercussions for those that do not attend at least one meeting. This is something that will need to be addressed in the future.

Earlier in the fall CRAOA helped to sponsor one of the IHSAA football clinics that was held at Coe College. Pat Casey provided props to Mike Mitchell, his crew and those that presented on doing a very good job with this event. It was well attended by members of CRAOA as well as many officials from other towns.

Motion by Chris Heidelbauer seconded by Pat Casey to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried at 8:00 PM.
